More Pictures

I'm in the updating mood today and I received a few more pictures from my house mates. So here are a few more for everyone to enjoy. These finally have my house mates in them. I'm going to try and get a few pics of the possums that are eating the fruit off the tree right by the deck tonight.

Party!!!!

Finally, I've gotten around to getting some time to post a few pictures from the party last weekend. I've been too busy with school work to get anything up.

We all had a great time. The bbq started around 4 down at the park about 5 minutes from the house right down by the river. About 30 or so people showed up. Mostly friend of my house mates and their friends. People from everywhere, Singapore, Germany, Iraq, France, Venezuela and of course Aussies. They let me take over the barbie for a while which was kind of surprising considering the tradition down here. So I guess us Americans can hold our own down under on the grill.

The party migrated back to the house around 8 or so. The DJ was already up an spinning when we got back there which was nice. Over the night I guess about 50 people or so came and went.

Nina and Erin baked me a cake so of course everyone had to sing me happy birthday, which I told them in the morning that there was to be no singing. Oh well. I was "slightly" inebriated so it was cool with me. And they also set up a pinata for me that they filled with candy and such. They wanted a speech out of me after the candles, which is I guess a Aussie thing, but there was none of that. Maybe next year.

About 9 people started to get in the pool we setup which was very cool. The drinks were flowing and it started to become a party around 10 or 11. Of course I ended up throwing about 3 people in over the course of the night. And fell in by myself of course. I think we ended up with 12 people in there at one time which was quite an accomplishment. It was a really good time and I got to chill with a lot of really cool people all night.

After about 2 or so people started trailing off and there were only a few left by the time I stumbled back upstairs around 3:30. Sunday was the recovery day, all day. Got up around 10 or so to get a little water and some breakfast but then crashed until about 6 when I started to move again. At one time there were 5 people crashed in the living room recovering. We should have taken a picture but no one had the energy to do so. There wasn't a lot of clean up to do as me and Nina did it Saturday night when we were a little tippsy and didn't mind doing it.

I think everyone had a great time and had so much fun. We'll have to have another one for whoever has their birthday next. Thanks to everyone that came and especially to Christine, Erin, and Nina for everything.

Now the pictures. I'll get some more from the girls and post them this weekend. With all of them in there as well.

Question of the Month, Belated

I guess I was a little too hopefully to get a question of the month every month. Maybe a question of every other month will be better. But to answer last months question, What superpower would you like to have? I would have to choose to fly, as always being fascinated with birds and insects it seem to fit me well. Just having the ability to fall out of the sky wouldn't do it for me.

Hovering and flying Superman style would be the best, not to mention a crap load of fun. If you choose to be you can be with others or you can always go off by yourself where there is no sound. Being on terra firma all your life I'm sure everyone has wondered about flying. I wonder if you get air legs, kind of like sea legs, once your up for a while. I'll guess we'll never find out. Oh well. Thanks to all those who posted a comment. Look for another question in a few weeks time.

More School, and Art

Finally had some classes to go to last week. As of now I just have class on Tuesday, Thursday and sometimes Fridays. I'm taking one class which is called an external class and is done completely over the internet. The professor posts the reading materials and the assignments each week. It's actually pretty good because I can schedule it around everything else I have to do.

I have 3 research papers due this semester one for each class and then probably another one for my class at the end of the semester that is a field course. So needless to say I will be spending many hours online and in the library doing research and writing considering each paper will be about 10-12 pages or longer. Lots of fun. But hopefully once I graduate I'll be doing that on a regular basis so I guess it's good to be doing it now.

Can't write too much as I have to head off to the library in a few minutes and then to the bookstore to buy my nice expensive textbooks for this semester. Everything else is going well. We've been cleaning up here and getting ready for our party this weekend. We've decided to have a circus theme so hopefully people will get dressed up and have a little fun with it. I guess we'll see. There will be pictures next week sometime.

I went two art exhibits this weekend. The one on Friday was fun because it had a few interactive things and my house mates friend had a very cool table they created there as well. It was for the design students at one of the uni's here in town. Then on Saturday we went to another one of their friends showings. She had 4 big windows at a gallery that's attached to a dinner / bistro type place. She did some very cool stuff with oyster shells, cattle horns, and leaves. She said it took her and a few other people about 4 days to get everything set up. I keep forgetting to take more pictures. I'll try and remember next time.

We hung out there for a while then went to a bar around the corner for a few drinks. I met two girls from the states there, one is the house mate of the girl who had the exhibit and the other was their friend. One was from Minnesota, and the other from N. Carolina, both are photography students. Then the other house mate was from Sweden and is also in the art scene as well.

We stayed there a while then went to Ric's, the club down in the valley for some drinks and a little dancing. Got home and crashed most of the day on Sunday except for a little more school work I had to do. Another very cool weekend.
